Cable Test Devices
Bend tests (flexural strength tests) and torsion tests for cables or wires
Description
We offer bend test and torsion test devices for cables or wires in cooperation with our partner CCONRADT.
The “flex life test” (or alternate bending test) is based on the standard specification ASTM B470. During the test, cables or wires under test are alternately bent over defined radii in cycles. The defined bending angle, weight load and speed permit comparable test results. As various standards require testing at different temperatures, our cable test devices are designed for use in standard climatic chambers. A safety door contact monitors the test room and stops movement when the door is opened. LED lighting facilitates the insertion and removal of cables or wires.
The torsion test device is especially designed for HF wires. Inside its protective housing, 3 plates synchronously rotate in alternating directions according to a specified test plan and climate profile. As a result, the damping characteristics of the cables are measured. We also offer other devices for higher temperature ranges on request.

Frequently asked questions
With the help of bend tests (flexural strength tests), one can determine the maximum bending stress a cable or wire can handle an indefinite number of times without breaking. Our bend tests follow the standard ASTM B470.
Torsion tests allow the measurement of the damping characteristics of HF cables/wires.
