Description

The Sentry AOI tester is a complete in-house development to meet the demand for a compact yet powerful automated optical inspection (AOI inspection) system. The device can be easily integrated into existing or new production lines to ensure your product quality. Besides its use in manual production environments, the automatic drawer of our Sentry allows its implementation in fully automated production lines.

As a systems manufacturer, we would like to emphasise our ability to offer you a turnkey solution for your use case. Our experienced team will gladly consult you about evaluation algorithms for National Instruments (NI) Vision and implement them for you. You can find further information in the tabs “Customisation” and “Service”.

Applications

  • Monitoring of the manual gluing process of various device labels (serial numbers, barcodes, 2D codes, certification labels) for the correct position and content
  • Final check of the product for damages caused during the production process (e. g. correct alignment of plug contacts, missing housing components, missing screws or assembly errors, colours)
  • Checking the dimensional accuracy of a DUT (housing correctly inserted, PCB completely cleanly separated from the panel)

Frequently asked questions

Sentry is a system for the automated optical inspection (AOI inspection). With our in-house development we want to meet the frequent demand for a compact yet powerful AOI system. Besides its use in manual production environments, the automatic drawer of our Sentry allows its implementation in fully automated production lines.

  • Serial numbers, barcodes, DMC codes, 2D codes, certification labels etc. for their position and contents
  • Presence of and distance between certain features (for example correct alignment of connectors, missing housing components, missing screws or assembly mistakes)
  • Colours
  • Dimensional accuracy of a DUT (housing correctly inserted, PCB completely separated from the panel)

The Sentry AOI tester supports any DUT with dimensions of up to 15 x 25 x 10 cm.

Due to its fast-swapping system, the Sentry AOI tester can easily be changed over to different DUT types. Thus, multiple DUT types are supported by one tester.

The implementation and evaluation is realised using National Instruments (NI) Vision. Our experienced test engineers gladly consult you or take care of the implementation.
